MS is a silent career killer

My story is that I am a professional who has been in the same Social Work field for ten years. Since being diagonised with MS just over two years ago, I decided to look around for other positions to progress with my career. Well that was ok until I realised that I could no longer interview well and of cause I have had one disapointment after the other. In Melbourne Australia there was a thinking and memory seminar that I attended tonight at the MS Society to try and get answers. Well I lasted only an hour, walked out crying, it was like the seminar was a case study about me, which I knew it was not. All the problems that I am having interviewing are very normal in our MS world, we forget information and go blank when nervous. Not fair, my MS is inactive, but not cognitively for me. So over it, I can see why we can get depressed. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice to help.

for me, those symptoms come and go. sounds so cliche but get lots of rest- even when you don’t think you are tired, eat well and keep trying. You will identify and learn to get over the "stressors" that cause the blank out feeling. Also, will start to see how a list or a certain "canned response" will help you get back on track.

Are you taking anything to help you sleep? I found that the sleep aid I was prescribed caused more problems than it fixed!

I sleep too well on my own without sleep aids, so love to sleep, possibily too much.
