15.01.2009 - Swollen lymph nodes

Question:

I have been taking betaseron for about 8 years now and I have not
had many side affects. Now I have swollen very sore lymph nodes I was
wondering if it could be from the betaseron. I have had blood work
done and it dose not seem to be anything else.

Reply:

It’s hardly possible that after eight years of Betaferon treatment this suddenly would cause painful lymph nodes. If the laboratory investigations don’t point in any direction, you could decide to stop Betaferon for one or two weeks to see what happens, and then resume therapy again. Please do contact your MS nurse or neurologist before you take any further step.
